ACiQ Floor Mounted air handlers are perfect for spaces like sun porches and attic rooms that lack room for a standard high wall unit. These units, sometimes referred to as heat console type air handlers, are mounted on or near the wall, making them ideal for low wall surfaces or floor spaces. They are slightly wider, taller, and shallower in shape compared to high wall units. They are a great option for sun porches with limited wall space beneath windows, or for attic renovations with knee-walls that may not have vertical high walls.
As a wall-mounted unit would, these units intake return air from the top and circulate it from the bottom. This makes it perfect for heating, as it prevents stratification caused by heat rising. When switched to cooling mode, the airflow direction is reversed to ensure better air circulation throughout the room.
Note: The 18k and 24k are slightly different in appearance from the 12k, and can be surface mounted on the floor or ceiling. Please see the appropriate manual for your model.
