Concealed Duct air handlers provide a wide array of benefits similar to those of a multi-zone mini split system, but without the presence of any visible units that might disrupt the aesthetics of your walls or ceilings. These highly versatile units can be discreetly hidden above the ceiling, below the floor, or even tucked away in a closet, hallway, or soffit, allowing for a seamless integration into your home's design. To set up these systems, you simply connect up to four flexible duct runs from the air handler to various ceiling or wall registers located in your desired areas throughout the space. This makes them particularly ideal for use in small bedrooms or a master suite where maintaining an uncluttered and visually appealing environment is essential. With these concealed systems, you can enjoy the comfort of efficient climate control without compromising on the style and elegance of your living spaces.
The design of this product is straightforward: the return air is taken in from the back, while the cooled or heated air is pushed out from the front by a nearly silent squirrel cage fan. You can easily attach a pre-made manifold takeoff or create your own plenums using ductboard. With a wide range of supplies available, the customization options are endless.
Installation Considerations
When installing a concealed duct system, careful planning is necessary, similar to a standard home HVAC installation. These types of systems work best for new construction or additions. Installation also requires flex ducting, register vents, plenums, and other supplies, in addition to the equipment components. These units already have a built-in pump to lift the condensation, and a PVC drain system must be installed to safely remove the wastewater.
