Karim's drive to help contractors succeed started young. Ethnically from Egypt but a citizen of Canada, Karim grew up in a diverse environment that valued hard work and innovation. His cross-cultural upbringing gave him a unique perspective on the challenges faced by small business owners.

At 18, Karim worked as a construction worker in downtown Toronto, spending long hours replacing bricks on the sides of buildings. Often, he found himself standing in a buck hoist, a temporary elevator used on construction sites. This gave him a firsthand look at the tough nature of construction work and fueled his desire to create solutions that would make contractors' lives easier and more efficient.

The Birth of Home Selection

Karim's family didn't have much money, so he had to start from scratch. With less than $10 in his bank account, he took a leap of faith. Using what little he had to buy a domain name, Home Selection was born. His determination and resourcefulness became the foundation upon which the company was built.
