Installation

MRCOOL Easy Pro —You’ll need a licensed HVAC technician for an MRCOOL Easy Pro installation. It is not designed for a DIY install.

MRCOOL DIY 4th Generation —The DIY unit is designed for Do-It-Yourself installation. It comes with pre-charged lines and somewhat user-friendly instructions for homeowners. However, it still requires some HVAC knowledge to install correctly.

 

BTU Options

MRCOOL Easy Pro —The Easy Pro offers multiple BTU options, including 9K, 12K, 18K, and 24K BTUs. 

MRCOOL DIY 4th Gen —The 4th Gen option provides multiple BTU options, including 12k, 18K, 24K, and up to 36K BTUs.  

 

Energy Efficiency 

MRCOOL Easy Pro —Less energy efficient than the 4th Generation unit.

MRCOOL 4th Generation —The MRCOOL 4th Generation mini split provides higher seasonal energy efficiency ratings (SEER) than Easy Pro units. You’ll spend less money heating and cooling your home with this unit.  

 

Warranty

MRCOOL Easy Pro —This unit comes with a standard professional warranty, which depends on having an experienced, licensed technician install it. 

MRCOOL DIY 4th Generation —The DIY unit comes with a limited warranty unless, once again, you hire a professional to install it for you. The limited warranty comes with a 5-year warranty on parts.

 

Temperature 

MRCOOL Easy Pro —The Easy Pro has a limited temperature range and capacity. 

MRCOOL DIY 4th Generation —You’ll get a broader temperature range, making it more suitable for extreme temperatures.
